An Italian caf\u00e9 racer built around Guzzi\u2019s signature longitudinal air-cooled V-twin. This is an 844cc, pushrod-operated, two-valve per cylinder engine with the cylinders mounted transversely across the frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twin Dell\u2019Orto carburettors feed a motor designed for strong low-to-midrange torque rather than peak horsepower. It\u2019s very linear and extremely usable on real roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A five-speed gearbox with a shaft final drive meaning minimal maintenance compared to chain-driven bikes, and it also gives the Le Mans its characteristic planted feel under acceleration..<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The frame is a Tonti-designed steel double cradle, widely regarded as one of the best handling chassis of its era; It\u2019s rigid and predictable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riding position is typical caf\u00e9 racer with clip-on bars, rear-set foot rests and a small Le Mans fairing. This was Guzzi\u2019s answer to the sport\/touring bikes of the time \u2014 built for fast road work and long-distance high-speed riding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mechanically, these are known for durability. The engines are understressed and parts availability is still strong. With proper maintenance, these motors routinely cover a very high mileage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
